If you’ve been keeping an eye on Shellstone at Waterside, here’s the update: The Summit, the community’s flagship amenity center, opened to residents on August 4, and Homes By Towne and Lee Wetherington Homes are planning a public grand opening for November 7. I wanted to break down what’s actually there, why it matters if you’re shopping this community, and what Shellstone looks like as a whole right now.
What’s actually inside The Summit
The Summit is Shellstone’s social hub, and it’s built for actual daily use, not just a photo for the sales brochure. Here’s what’s there: a fitness center, a resort-style pool and spa, poolside cabanas, a social hall you can picture hosting an HOA meeting or a birthday party, a covered lobby and lounge area, a fitness lawn for outdoor classes, plus a BBQ grill and fire pit for evenings by the pool.
Why the timing matters
For buyers who are considering Shellstone, a finished amenity center is a real signal, not a rendering or a promise on a sales sheet. You can walk through it, see the finish quality, and judge for yourself whether it matches what you’re paying for. It also means the community is maturing: early buyers took a bit of a leap of faith on amenities that didn’t exist yet, and that phase is now behind Shellstone. Top-end pricing across the community currently runs up to about $1.3 million on the largest homesites. Worth noting: this is base pricing from the builders, and it moves as inventory turns and lots get released, so treat these as a starting point for a conversation rather than today’s exact number.
